Resolve contract
disputes without
going to court
Numus is online arbitration that issues
legally binding awards enforceable in
the US and 171 other countries.
What is Arbitration?
Arbitration was created to give business owners a fast, fair way to resolve disputes without the cost and delays of court. Parties select a neutral third party to listen to both sides and make a decision. Courts respect the decision and enforce it as their own judgment.
How does it work?

Add the arbitration clause to your contract or terms of service
Including our arbitration clause in your written agreements grants Numus the authority to resolve your disputes.

A dispute related to the contract arises
When a disagreement occurs, either party must initiate online arbitration instead of filing a lawsuit in court.

You initiate arbitration through our online form
Start the process by submitting your dispute details and supporting documents through our secure online filing system.

The other party is notified and files a response
Numus formally notifies the other party and provides a defined period for them to submit their response and evidence.

The arbitrator decides and issues an award
A neutral arbitrator reviews the submissions and issues a written, binding decision based on what is fair and reasonable.

You enforce the award in the US or internationally
Most losing parties pay voluntarily. If not, you can enforce the judgment in the US or internationally by seizing assets or garnishing income.
Arbitration carries the full force of law

Federal Arbitration Act
In the United States, arbitration awards are enforced under the Federal Arbitration Act. Courts do not re-hear the dispute or review the merits of the decision. They confirm the award and enter it as their own judgment, with only very narrow procedural grounds for refusal.

New York Convention
International arbitration awards are enforced under the New York Convention, a treaty adopted by 171 countries. Courts in these countries are required to recognize and enforce arbitration awards issued abroad, with very limited exceptions.
Can I enforce arbitration awards in?
Yes, enforceable.
The Federal Arbitration Act has been in force in the United States since 12 Feb 1925.
Arbitration awards are enforceable.

How to opt in?
Add this clause to your contract:
This contract shall be governed solely by the laws of the state of New York, and no rules that would require applying another state’s or country’s laws shall apply.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to this contract shall be resolved by final and binding arbitration administered by Numus Arbitration Center in accordance with its Arbitration Rules. Any court with legal authority may enforce the arbitration award.
Parties agree that all legal notices, including arbitration notices, can be served via email.
How much does it cost?
Each side, claimant and the respondent, pay a fee to participate in the arbitration.
- 3% of dispute amount (min $300)
- $2,500 for non-monetary claims Non-monetary claims are cases where you ask for action, not money. For example: deliver goods, stop using your content, or follow a contract term.
- $2,500 for interim measures Interim measures are urgent temporary protections before a final decision, like freezing funds, keeping records safe, or stopping harmful actions.
Estimate your fee
Numus reserves the right to unilaterally change the cost of arbitration at any time without notice.
